How to Clean Ears
Cleaning your pet’s ears should be done under the direction of your veterinarian. The reason for this is to ensure that you are using an ear cleaner that is safe for your pet, and one that will be effective. We also need to be sure their ear drum is intact, because certain ear washes and medications should not be used if their ear drum is compromised. If you have an appointment for your pet to see the veterinarian to examine their ears, hold off on cleaning them if you can. This allows to doctor to get a good sample of the debris that is in their ear(s). We are always more than happy to flush your pet’s ears for you, however we will ask you to do it at home as well. Check out this video on how to clean your dog’s ears!
How to Trim Nails
Trimming your dog’s nails should be done on an as needed basis. Some dogs wear their nails down, and very rarely need them trimmed. A good school of thought is if you can hear their nails clicking/tapping on a hard floor when they walk, they should be trimmed. You are always welcome to bring them in for a nail trim, but for those of you that would prefer to save a trip and do it yourself, check out the video below!
